Shin-Etsu Silicone by the Numbers

What is Shin-Etsu Silicone all about?
What is it they do?
The silicone products manufactured by Shin-Etsu
Chemical are sold under the Shin-Etsu Silicone
brand name. Here are some numbers associated with Shin-Etsu Silicone which tell the story of the brand.

In 1953, Shin-Etsu Chemical was the first Japanese company to turn silicone into a commercial enterprise. Ever since, we have worked to build out that business under the auspices of the Shin-Etsu Silicone brand, always looking to meet the demands of the times.
Moving forward, we will aim for continued growth as we strive to serve the increasing diversity of customer needs.

Shin-Etsu Chemical has developed over 5000 products that make the most of the outstanding properties of silicones.
We serve the needs of a wide variety of industries, including electrical and electronics, automobiles, construction, personal care products, healthcare, and chemicals.

Shin-Etsu Chemical has established production and sales locations in Asia, Europe, the Americas, and other regions worldwide.
Our supply networks are linked directly to the markets they serve.
We're working to spread the Shin-Etsu Silicone name to all four corners of the globe.

Through a painstaking commitment to meeting customer needs, Shin-Etsu Chemical has grown to become the No. 1 silicone manufacturer in Japan and one of the top worldwide.
We will continue in our quest to become the world's top brand.

At Shin-Etsu Chemical, our R&D, production and sales divisions work as one, as part of our unique approach to product creation.
Moving forward, Shin-Etsu will seek to build on this integrated approach. We will make a concerted effort to expand our silicone business by capitalizing on our hard-won technical expertise, high quality, and dedication to service.

Construction of new lab facilities at our Silicone Electronics Materials Research Center was completed in February 2016.
With these new facilities, Shin-Etsu will be even better positioned to develop products for such promising sectors as healthcare, energy, electrical and electronics and semiconductors, as we look to expand our business by finding new applications for silicones.

Silicone products can have an incredible array of different features, which are traceable to their molecular structures, and can be designed to have very specific properties. This is what makes silicone a material with near-limitless possibilities.
Shin-Etsu Chemical will continue to explore the potential of silicone and harness it to develop products that meet the diverse range of customer needs.
