Epoxy Silane

Epoxysilane coupling agent is a silane coupling agent with epoxy groups as functional groups.
It can be used as a resin modifier, adhesion aid, and surface treatment agent.

Used as a Resin Modifier

By reacting with amino groups, carboxy groups, and alcohol groups in resins, resins containing alkoxysilyl groups can be synthesized.

Use as an Adhesion Aid

When added as an adhesion aid to adhesives and paints such as sealants, adhesion to substrates (glass, metal, etc.), moisture resistance and corrosion resistance can be improved.

Use as a Glass Surface Treatment Agent

Glass fiber treated with epoxy silane solution can be mixed with resin to produce glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin (FRTP) and glass fiber reinforced thermoset resin (FRP). Silane treatment allows chemical bonding between glass fiber and resin, which improves strength, heat resistance, water resistance, and electrical properties.

Use as a Surface Treatment Agent for Inorganic Fillers

By mixing inorganic fillers (silica, etc.) treated with epoxysilane with epoxy resin and curing, inorganic fillers and epoxy resin can be integrated, improving mechanical strength, etc.
