Shin-Etsu Silicone Selection Guide for Cosmetics

Polyglycerin Modified Silicones

This is a silicone fluid with polygycerol chains added. It has both hydrophobic and hydrophilic parts, so it can be used as a surfactant or powder dispersant.
It has high water retention and gives a soft, moist feel.
There are also products specialized for powder dispersants.

Dispersibility of Fine Titanium Dioxide Particles – Dispersion Viscosity of Bead Mill Dispersion –

This is an example of dispersing high-concentration fine titanium dioxide particles in silicone fluids using a bead mill with various active agents.
When KF-6106 and KF-6115, which are dispersing agents specialized for dispersibility, are used, the dispersed material becomes low in viscosity and maintains its low viscosity even over time.
This shows that KF-6106 and KF-6115 have excellent powder dispersibility and dispersion stability.
KF-6106 is suitable for formulations based mainly on silicone fluids, while KF-6115 is suitable for formulations that combine silicone fluids, hydrocarbon oils, UV absorbers, etc.
