What is the difference between pre-treatment of filler and integral blending method in silane coupling agents?
In general, in the pretreatment method, the inorganic filler is treated first and then kneaded into the organic material. In the integral blend method, the inorganic filler, resin, and silane are added simultaneously without pretreatment. In the integral blend method, the silane itself may volatilize during heat treatment immediately after kneading. It is recommended to heat it after a curing period.
Effects of Aging on Organic Resin Blends
- Example of application to polyester resins
- When coupling agents are added using the integral blend method, aging at room temperature allows the silane coupling agent to migrate to the interface with the inorganic, bringing it closer to that of the pretreated glass cloth.
